Candy cane bath salts

A simple, spa-inspired gift that costs very little and looks lovely layered in a clear jar.

You'll need

• 2 cups Epsom salt
• Red food coloring
• 10–15 drops peppermint essential oil
• A clear jar

How to make them

1. Divide the Epsom salt into two bowls; tint one half pale red, leave the other white.
2. Stir a few drops of peppermint oil into each half.
3. Layer red and white salt in alternating stripes inside the jar for a candy-cane effect.
4. Seal with a lid and a ribbon; label with usage instructions.
